The Beaches

The Kisami area boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Japan. This is where Izu's rugged coast meets soft white sands and crystal blue waters.
Kisami - Oohama is a 7 minute stroll from tabi-tabi and is the biggest beach in the area ("Oohama" means "Big Beach").
Iritahama can also be reached on foot but probably best to borrow one of our peddle bikes
Tadadohama has some of the best surf in the area and can been seen from Iritahama and is best reached by bicycle.
Sand Ski Hill is an enormous sand dune you ride down on a toboggan or rented sand board.
Toji Beach and the open cave are just down the coast from the Sand Ski Hill and is another great local spot and quiet beach.
There are plenty more beaches to explore outside of Kisami. Just north of Kisami is the famous, Shirahama beach, and south of Shimoda is the beautifully bow-shaped, Yumigahama.
