The southern end of Izu Peninsula has hidden coves and caves and offers plenty of coastline to explore. There are some great hiking trails but the coast is best seen from the water. There are sea kayaking tours, with lessons to help you get there. Kai'to is a surf-kayak and sea-kayak school with English speaking instructors. There are plenty of fish in the sea. If you want to try and catch some you can bring a rod and cast off the coast. Just follow the locals they know where the best spots are. If you want to try and catch some bigger fish, we highly recommend a fishing tour. Licensed fishing tour operators will take you onboard their fishing boat and provide everything you need to come home with a freshly caught local delicacy. If you prefer watching fish over catching them, there are some great diving and snorkeling spots in the area. You can also use your mask and snorkel to bring up some clams for the barbeque.
